Welcome to my personal website. If you'd like to find out something about me, you're at the right spot.

I can share with you my hobbies just like the information about my studies and my work. I even posted a few samples of my work here. I work full-time during holidays and as much as possible during the school semester. Therefore, I publish here the little I did for the CMS GetSimple that my site is powered by.

If I should summarize myself and also this website into a few words, it would look like the following:

  • Tomáš Janeček
  • personal website
  • Turnov, Řehoty, Nový Bydžov, Hradec Králové
  • Faculty of Informatics and Management on the University of Hradec Králové
  • WebPrezent
  • creating websites, a bit of webdesign, Java and PHP programming, hardware, English
  • MTB cycling, volleyball, skateboarding, snowboarding, travelling, automotorism

Once in a while something very interesting engages my attention. So I started to write short articles that you can find in their section. I also write for a modest webmagazine, WebZpravodaj.cz.

In case you wanted to contact me, write a comment under the article concerned or via any of the provided contacts. :)

Reasons to have a personal website

I wouldn't be able to reply a year ago, but it's all different now. The reasons are obvisous - on your website, you present...

  1. yourself
  2. your ideas
  3. your skills
  4. If you created the site on your own, you learn.

This is exactly my case. I write about myself, about what interests me the most, I show what I'm able to do and what I like. In the same time, I learn - mainly design in general and practise my PhotoShop skills for which (as a coder) I don't have much time or space at work. Furthermore, this was the first CMS-based (Content Management System) website I have ever come into contact with and made. These days I work more with Joomla! CMS, but still GetSimple is my most favourite one.

Finally, I just wanna say: "Dear readers, write, that's what websites are for."
